The Great Debate: Sweet vs. Salty

Everyone has their own preference for tastes. Have you ever thought why you may prefer a sugary snack while someone else prefers a salty one?

In fact, our taste preferences come from a combination of our genetics and environment. We each have around 10,000 taste buds which perceive four basic tastes: sweet, salty, sour, and bitter. From before we are even born, we have sensitivities to sweet and salty stimuli. The higher our sensitivities are, the less likely we will want to eat that type of food.

Environment plays a role because when we get more exposure we get to certain foods, we can acquire a stronger desire for it! On the other hand, if we have a bad experience with a certain food, we will develop a strong distaste for it.

Luckily, Jody's Popcorn has something for everybody. Craving something salty? Try our Cheesy Jalapeno– coated in white cheddar. Something sugary? Have some of our Chocolate Drizzle– Recipe 53 Caramel Corn hand drizzled with dark & white chocolate.

Can't decide? We have you covered for that, too. Nothing beats our Kettle Corn!!
