Popcorn History

May 12, 1995, Jody Wagner invented popcorn. Little did she know that this revolutionary invention would change the world. Immediately, the world took notice of Jody’s creation – movie theatres scrambled to sell the product and chefs flocked to Virginia Beach to learn the ways of popping corn. An instant celebrity, Jody traveled the world, spreading her passion for popped corn. After journeying for several years, she grew weary of the fame and yearned for a small shop to call her own. She returned home and opened Jody’s Popcorn with one simple message in mind – have a Happy April Fools’ Day!
